For you, who just got an invitation
Most people land here nervous. If that's you, breathe.
You typed "Kokoro evaluation" with a knot in your stomach, just in case. That's normal; it'd be strange not to. So let's get to what matters: there's no passing or failing here, and we'll explain it to you straight. And while you're looking at yourself, there's something that's only yours, something you maybe never sat down to see.
Start from where you are today
This test is private and optional. The company that invited you to an evaluation does NOT receive this result. Taking or not taking the test does not affect your application, your evaluation, or what the company sees.
What you're probably asking yourself right now
What is Kokoro and why am I being asked to do this?
Kokoro is the evaluation platform used by the company you applied to. They invite you to an evaluation to get to know you beyond your résumé, before the interview. It's not a pass-or-fail exam: no one is going to count how many answers you got "right." You can't study for it.
Does moving forward in the process depend on this?
It's one part of the process, not the only part and not the deciding one. The company uses it alongside your experience and the interview, and the final decision is always made by a human team, never by a score on its own. The fact that they invited you is already a good sign: it means they're interested in you.
What does the company see from my evaluation?
The company receives information tied to the selection evaluation it invited you to. The private interests test for applicants is separate: it isn't shared with companies and isn't used to decide selection processes. If you want to know exactly what data is collected and what for, you have every right to ask.
Why does the company evaluating me offer me a test? What's in it for them?
Fair question, and here's the straight answer: the evaluation they invited you to belongs to the company and you don't pay for it. The interests test is a different thing, it's optional and it's for you. It's private: the company does NOT receive its result, and taking it or not taking it does not affect your application. You don't need it for your selection process, and if you don't want it, nothing happens. We offer it because a lot of people find it helps them apply with more clarity.
How do I walk into the evaluation calmer?
Find a spot without interruptions, give yourself plenty of time, and answer honestly: there are no "correct" answers to memorize. Answering as you really are is the only thing that makes the result worth anything. Important: the interests test does not "prepare" you for the selection evaluation, they're different things. We won't sell you shortcuts that don't exist.
